What is the difference between a Silk Peel Dermalinfusion versus a traditional Microdermabrasion?
A Silk Peel Dermalinfusion uses a diamond wand tip to thoroughly exfoliate the skin, while simultaneously infusing a serum into the skin that addresses various skin care issues. The serums include Salycylic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C and Lumixyl. A Microdermabrasion traditionally uses dry crystals to exfoliate the skin, leaving the skin streaked and traumatized.
What is the difference between Botox & Dysport?
Botox and Dysport are both neurotoxins that relax the muscles on the face, to reduce the signs of wrinkling. Because Dysport is relatively new to the U.S. market, the jury is still out on the main difference between the 2 medications. They both take a few days to take effect and last 3-4 months. Pricing is very similar between the two, with Dysport being slightly cheaper.

Should patients with ethnic skin wear sunscreen?
Yes, Yes and Yes!!! We encourage all of our patients with darker skin types to wear a DAILY sunscreen. Patients with ethnic skin are still prone to sun damage and wrinkling and because there are not as many anti-aging laser treatment options available to these skin types, it is even more important to prevent the signs of aging in these patients. For those of you who do not like using a creamy sunscreen because of its chalky appearance, we encourage you to try the Colorscience line of Sunforgettable sunscreens. These sunscreens are all natural mineral powder, that will not leave your skin greasy or shiny.
How often should a patient exfoliate their skin?
We encourage patients to exfoliate their skin at home at least 2-3 times per week, depending on how sensitive their skin is. At home exfoliation can include gentle scrubs, chemical serums or our spa favorite, Alpha Hydroxy Acid exfoliating pads. We also recommend that patients have a medical grade exfoliation once every 8 weeks. This is typically achieved by either having a Chemical Peel (strength and composition will vary based on your skin type) or a Silk Peel Dermalinfusion.
What is the difference between Botox/Dysport and a Dermal Filler like Restylane or Juvederm?
These products are very different and accomplish completely different things. Botox is used to relax lines and wrinkles and to prevent them from appearing in the first place. Restylane and Juvederm are used to ‘fill’ in lines and wrinkles and to restore volume to the face. Fillers are great to fill in the lines around the mouth (laugh lines) or to give the lips some extra volume. Many patients have both types of injectable treatments – otherwise known as the ‘Liquid Facelift’.
